What to do on the day … Guidance for all exhibitors.

The May Queen Field.

This will be open for set-up from 8am and the main event is open from 11am until 5pm with the ‘Drive in’ parade through the village centre at 10:30am. Please note that this has been extremely popular, those allocated a place in the parade will notified separately.


Please ensure to bring with you essentials for the day such as Sun Cream, Hat, Water, Waterproof etc to cover for the variety of weather that we’ve come to know and love in the UK. Fingers crossed for a repeat of last year’s Amazing weather!


This year we are encouraging as many of you as possible to Dress the Part to give an even more Historic feel to the event, there will be Prizes for the Best Dressed. We also have a large British military theme this year with a Militaria Display and a Dakota C-47 flypast, this particular aircraft was involved in operations on the eve of D-Day, 75 Years ago to the month, on the 5th June 1944.


Many of you are returning from previous years and have kindly expressed how great the event is. We are hoping to better previous years and wish all exhibitors previous and new a fantastic day. Please let me know if you have any questions beforehand or on the day and we’ll do our best to assist you.



 Location: The ​May Queen Field, Pepper St, Lymm, WA13 0JB – The site will be signposted on all the approaches to the village. For map and more general information



On arrival your vehicle will be met and directed to your pitch by our Marshals at the field entrance.




  • Unless you are in the parade you must arrive onto the field by no later than 10.15am. After that time you will find the road closed as we are unable to accept entrance after then,

  • For advance information if your vehicle has been accepted for the parade you must be at the departure point by 10.00am at the latest. drive-in Details below 

  • Once you bring a vehicle onto the field it must stay on-field within the allocated area for public safety reasons until the event closes,

  • Any vehicle movement between 10:40am and the event close is prohibited unless directed by the Field Marshalls,

  • The field is well drained with a very slight slope. If the weather is inclement we will have trackway laid to ensure safe entry onto and exit from the field,

  • There are no water or power supplies available on The May Queen Field

  • Please note that space is limited this year, as demand has been so high we are discouraging the use of Gazebos for Individual Vehicles unless this is secured to the ground and fits within an overall pitch area including vehicle of 2m by 5m. PLEASE NOTE: the use of guy ropes to anchor gazebos is prohibited due to the tripping hazard,

  • All pitches must be set up by 10:30am,

  • Individual Vehicle Exhibitors will not receive anything by post in advance,

  • Every Exhibitor Vehicle will receive a Free Event Pass for the driver and one passenger on arrival. Additional passengers are charged at £5 per adult, £3 per child,

  • We spend considerable time and effort planning this event and are aware of those vehicles that have been booked in. Vehicles will not be allowed on the field unless pre-booked and notified of acceptance by the event organisers.


Waste Disposal: At the end of the Event please take as much litter away with you as possible. There will be bins provided on the field but for such a large event these can get full.

If you are booked in for the drive-in (and only if you are booked in )  please arrive any time from 9.15 and no later than 10.00. Be ready to set off at 10.20am. There will be marshalls to manage the departure.  You will be released in batches. The route will take you through the village .. past cheering crowds (where there will be a road closure )  and take you up onto the field in time for our opening at 11am or shortly after. 





This is where we really  NEED your co-operation to help things go smoothly.


Clearly the major challenge of our venue is the single point of access and exit for vehicles and pedestrians. We have that well under control at the start of the day and with your help we can make it easy and safe for everyone at the end of the day too.

PLEASE DON’T TRY TO LEAVE EARLY AND ABSOLUTELY NO VEHICLE MOVEMENT BEFORE 4.40pm when the gates will be opened to traffic.

By 4.30 the field will be a lot clearer as many people will have made their way to the village to see the fantastic sail past of Historic Working Boats.. Why not join them and then make a leisurely departure after 5pm?


If we do not all adhere to these guidelines then we put the future of the event at risk. 

Any club or individuals who are unable to keep to the guidelines may not be invited back.

In case of GENUINE EMERGENCY please speak to a marshall before moving.  Thank you 





This venue  for model railways and limited number of traders will be open for set-upfrom 8.00. If you are an exhibitor you should receive detailed information from your club co-ordinator  for Warrington MRC in Vliiage Hall. You will be able to unload right next to the building and at that time in the morning you should have no trouble getting free parking for the day in the car parks next to your venue.


SCOUT & GUIDE HQ - MAPLE LODGE  May Queen Field Approach 

This venue for Aviaition Art  and LEGO and limited number of traders will be open for set-up from 8.00. You will be able to unload right next to the building and at that time in the morning and will be able to leave your vehicle parked, you are only three minutes walk from the village centre but please note that once you are in your vehicle will need to stay in place till the end of the day.  Exhibitors may also set up on Saturday pm by arrangement contact alanlymm@gmail.com

We would like to welcome ALL boat visitors for what promises to be a great weekend. Bridgewater Federation boaters and other pleasure boaters also add to the festive air of the event. Please feel free to decorate your boats.

Unless you are registered with us a historic boat please moor away from the centre of the village to leave space for our historic collection. That should still leave you only a two minute walk from the village centre.

Arrangements have been made to suspend public visitor moorings in the centre of the village to ensure easy access for visitors to the historic working boats.  If you are bringing an historic boat, please take a look at the BOOK-IN page for more information .
