We are generally a DOG FRIENDLY event as long as your dogs are friendly too.   You can take your dog on the park and ride  buses. Much of the event is outside in wide open spaces. We do ask that you .. Keep FIDO on a lead at all times .. scoop your poop.. be aware that some indoor venues can get a little more  crowded and may not be appropriate.. please don't leave FIDO tied up outside barking..

Please bring your own water. HAVE A GREAT DAY

All the fun and that very special atmosphere of Historic Transport Day is back and  our team will be ensuring that with your help and cooperation  it will also be super-safe.

FUN ON THE FIELD

The May Queen field will have a huge display of vehicles as always from penny-farthing bicycles to fire engines as well as hundreds of classic cars.

There are two special vehicle collections included this year. The “Blue Light” display tells the story of emergency vehicles spanning the past 100 years. “My Dad Had One of These” is an opportunity for instant nostalgia as we bring together family cars of the 60s , 70s and 80s, reminding of us of our childhood  summer holidays and trips to the seaside.

NOT ONE BUT TWO FOOD COURTS

This year we have not one but two world food courts – giving us more chance to spread out and queue safely, plus a fantastic array of market stalls.

There’ll be live music. You can even have a bop. When did we last have the chance to dance?

GREAT FOR KIDS

Lots of fun for the kids too. Roundabout,  Remote control car racing, hilarious bikes to try out,  sit-on steam train as well as some  great surprise novelties from the  movies.

We have no “arena” event this year - we are keen to avoid  crowding -  but you could bump into some very interesting characters who will be on the move round the field during the day.

DRESS THE PART

Why not DRESS THE PART. We always have some folk in costume or uniform and they really add to the atmosphere. We  would love to see as many of you  as possible in retro-period gear.

LEGO AND MODEL RAIL

We are hoping to be able to stage our hugely popular LEGO and model railway shows too, with a few changes to ensure safe distancing.  Whether and how exactly we do it will depend on what is allowed and considered safe.

STEAM IN THE VILLAGE

Down in the village you will find a great collection of traction engines as always.  PLEASE NOTE there is no official drive in parade this year for crowd safety/social distancing reasons  but you may see ( and hear .. and smell)  traction engines on the move round the village during  the day. And of course for real enthusiasts there will be up to 400 vehicles heading into the village and up Pepper St between 8am and 10.15am.

ON THE CANAL

There will be historic working boats on the canal – the very essence of Lymm-  but probably less than usual due to a landslip that has blocked the canal near Anderton making it very difficult for many boats to reach us, but still plenty to see and always a highlight.

PARK AND RIDE

Please park at our signposted PARK  & RIDE or STRIDE  on Crouchley Lane.  It’s free to park and you can walk to the event field in just six minutes or hitch a ride on a vintage bus into the village centre.

ADVANCE TICKETS

Tickets will be going on sale on-line and in Lymm from mid-May. We strongly urge you to buy in advance to secure your places.  You’ll skip the queues and help make the day go even more smoothly.

Adult £5 Child 5-16 £3  Family 2+2 £13

Full refund offered  if we have to cancel in advance of the day.

Be assured that we are taking every step possible to provide a great day out in a safe environment.
